CCC Spring 2025 10K Time Trial

When?      Saturday Afternoons; Rider’s meeting @ 2 PM, 1^st rider is sent off right after the meeting.

Where?     Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park, 7502 Natural Bridge Road, Tallahassee FL 32305

Who?        Open to all CCC members

How Much to Enter?  Nada, but there’s a one-time $5.00 parking fee, payable directly to the State Park system, to help support Florida State Parks for the entire 4-date series.

What do I get out of it?  Home-made, grassroots friendly competition & camaraderie.  An opportunity to develop or improve time trialing skills and to experience a “sportive” side of cycling.  

So, “Prizes”?  Yes, there will be prizes! $25 Epic Bikes Gift Cards

• Ride 2 events to qualify.*
  
• You’ll be ranked by gender and by your finish times (brackets).
• The Female/Male “best time” in any one event wins in each bracket.
• The Female/Male “most-improved time” (comparing any two times) wins in each bracket.You must ride all four events to qualify for “most-improved”.*

How do I enter?

• Log in to your member account.  Click on the “Register Now” button.
  (There’s no “Register Now” button, until you log in.).
• You only have to register for one event to be registered for the series.
• Registration closes on Thursdays at 5 pm.
• Just Ride any or all of the four Saturdays.

The Fine Print:

• Since club-provided rider insurance is required, you’ll need to be a CCC member to register and ride.  Not a member?  Please go to  https://cccyclists.org/content.aspx?page_id=60&club_id=105555 to sign up as a member and join to receive this and other benefits. (…think of it as an entry fee with “other benefits”)

• Park in the lot “West” of the restrooms and put the parking fee in the brown “Iron Ranger” drop box. Please be a good citizen and don’t leave trash or yer sweaty gloves behind.  

• The course/timing will likely be longer/shorter/slower/faster than what’s shown on yer devices. It is what it is and all results are final.

• The course is open to motor traffic without law enforcement traffic control or volunteer traffic wardens.  Just like any club ride, you’ll be responsible for your own safety.  Please be alert and aware of what’s going on around you.

• You’ll get a “10K Start-Results Sheet” (starting order, finish times) by email before & after each event.

Prize qualification details

• To get a chance at a $25 Epic Bike Shop gift certificate, ride any two of the four events.

   

• Your finish time in your first event places you in one of four brackets:

   

  Minutes:Seconds

  14:00 - 16:59

  17:00 - 18:59

  19:00 - 21:59

  22:00+

   

   

• In each bracket, there’s a Female/Male "One Event Fastest Time" category and a Female/Male “Most-Improved Time” category.(…No “ageism” but classification by performance.)

   

• To qualify for "One Event Fastest Time", do any two events but to qualify for “Most-Improved Time”, you’re stuck riding all four.

   

• “Most-Improved Time”, is the better of any of the other three finish times compared to your week 1 finish time.

   

• Ebikes are welcome.But if you crave a prize (…other than the joy of riding), an Ebike will qualify you only in the “Most-Improved Time” category.
