Riding Not Working Friday: Capitola (B/B+ pace, 29 miles)

About this event

Pace Miles Pace Group Leader Route
B/B+ (14 to 18) 29 Steve Baird & Garry Breedlove  Riding, Not Working Friday Ride

Join the group for a ride down to the Wacissa River and back.  We stop for a rest break at the Wacissa Springs Public Boat Ramp, which is quite scenic. There is an option to shorten the ride a bit by skipping the stretch from Tram Road down to the Boat Ramp.

This is intended to be a social ride.  No one who can maintain a B pace will be dropped.  If the group gets ahead, one of the ride leaders will stop and allow everyone to re-group periodically.  Some riders may pick up the pace at points (particularly during the second half of the ride) but at least one ride leader will hang back as necessary to make sure that no one is dropped.

If you are driving to the ride, please do not block the area designed for horse trailer parking.

Ride Paces:   A++: 22+ mph   A+: 20-22 mph   A: 18-20 mph   B+: 16-18 mph   B: 14-16 mph  C: 12-14 mph   CASUAL: 8-12 mph
Speeds listed are rolling averages. Expect slower and faster sections depending on topography and weather.

Registration Info

Registration is required
Non-members must pre-register (including a signed waiver of liability) to participate. Pre-registration is recommended for members. Pre-registering allows the ride leader to quickly locate your emergency contact information if needed. Also, members are covered under the club's liability insurance policy and excess accident medical expense insurance policy. In the event of a claim, pre-registration will facilitate the claims process and provide evidence that you were a ride participant. Please note that the club’s insurance policies do not cover non-members. All riders must wear a helmet and follow CCC's other ride rules as posted on this website.
