I hope your New Year has gotten off to a great start. We have several upcoming activities that I wanted to get on your radar. First a get together on Bike packing, touring, and bicycle vacationing Friday evening February 10th. Second, in March there will be a one or two day (you choose) club ride to explore the new coastal trail. Read on to hear more about both of these activities. In addition, we have a new weekly club ride that will leave from Bicycle House at 10:30 AM Sunday mornings, check facebook or the web site for any location changes. And, finally, we are working on putting together another multi day ride in South Georgia in April.
Biking Get Together
Join us at Bicycle House Friday, February 10th - 5:30 to socialize and 6:30 to hear about club members’ experiences bike-packing, bike vacationing, and bike touring. Learn what this is all about or get ideas for new destinations. Club members will talk about their experiences and trade information. The club will provide Pizza, Beer and Wine. Please sign up to attend either on the Facebook event or on the event calendar on the CCC website. We need to know how much food and drink to buy.

For those wanting a two day adventure we’ve reserved a block of rooms at The Oaks at Ochlockonee Bay. The property was purchased two years ago and renovated very nicely. There is a nice pool and hot tub area to enjoy after the ride. To reserve a room, call Lou at the Oaks. Tell her you are with CCC or Capital City Cyclists. If no answer, leave a message she will get back to you. The phone number for the Oaks is 850 713-0175. Please reserve your room as soon as possible, she can only hold the rooms for a couple weeks and there are a limited number of rooms available. March is prime spring break time. A room with one king or queen bed runs $65 per night.
This will be a semi supported ride. Meaning the club will provide a few snacks at the starting points and drinks and snacks when you arrive at The Oaks Saturday as well as a continental style (yogurt, bagels, coffee and fruit) breakfast on Sunday. Dinner and lunches will be on your own. There are several restaurants along the way as well as within biking or walking distance of the Oaks.
