CCC Rides

...and another upcoming regional Cycling Event: To...
Author Last Post
Howdy, all:

Well, I can really recommend this event because I've ridden it and had a swell time each year.  Think about getting together to put some CCC representation down there (...wear yer Club jerseys!).  Tour de Melon is way fun and worth the trip.

Suwannee Valley Rotary really puts on a good event with a Friday Evening get-together (...so you can size up the competition, you know) and a splendid post-ride feed.  They stage from a community park with plentiful parking and more-than-adequate facilities.  Heck, they even set up misting showers for yer post-ride cool down.  The Century/Metric courses are marked/supported and run on really, really flat Levy County roads (...Tram Road has 3-4 times more elevation changes).  You'll ride past the watermelon fields where you'll likely see melon pickin' in progress, cut-down school buses, and all.

This is our 14th annual event, and we host around 200 riders. The event is hosted by Suwannee Valley Rotary and completely ran by our amazing volunteers. 100% of the proceeds directly support our local youth and civic groups. We offer a century and half century road route as well as a beautify trail ride on the Nature Coast Trail (perfect for newer cyclist, family rides or cyclists wanting a shaded ride). We serve a light breakfast prior as well as lunch after! This year’s event is on Saturday June 7th. We also have a fun Tour de Melon social at Beef O’ Brady’s in Chiefland the Friday prior on 6.6.25 from 6-8pm open to all our registered riders where we serve appetizers and just get to know our riders!
