First Group Ride
New to group riding? Coming back after a long layoff? Capital City Cyclists wants to welcome you and provide safe and friendly opportunities to enjoy your two wheels.
On the first Sunday of each month, a relaxed version of the Bruegger’s Bagel Ride will be tailored to the beginning or “relaxed rider”. Relaxed riders will be identified, and taken aside by a ride leader before the regular ride leaves. The ride leader(s) will then determine the length of the ride with input from the relaxed riders. The pace for the ride is estimated to be between 12 and 15 mph. When possible, two leaders will be present so that any riders present having trouble keeping up can form a subgroup at a slower pace and/or a shorter distance with a leader to make sure everyone gets to the end of the ride safely. Spread the word at work, in your neighborhood, or any other place where newbie cyclists might lurk. Just tell them to come to Bruegger’s in the Carriage Gate Shopping Center before 9 AM each frist Sunday, with a helmet and a bike. This is a great opportunity to introduce others to cycling and to our club. Contact Jim Man by phone (422-0302) or email at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Hope to see you there!
